Travel is not a product.<\/em><\/p>\n

It’s not something you buy and consume. It’s an experience that, when properly designed, stays with you, even when everything else has faded. <\/p>\n

I remember the period before Skydream was born, with dozens of tabs open simultaneously, conflicting reviews, hotels that all looked equally good in photos. There was no shortage of destinations or options. On the contrary, the more we acquired, the harder it became to distinguish those that truly mattered to the person who would be traveling. <\/p>\n

It’s logical to want to see all options before deciding. It gives the feeling that you won’t miss anything important. <\/p>\n

Somewhere along the way, however, I realized something different: that designing a trip doesn’t start with the map. It starts with the person. With the way they observe a place, with the pace at which they want to get to know it, with the small details that make two people experience the same place completely differently. <\/p>\n

That’s why I never start by asking, “Where do you want to go?” I start by trying to understand how you want to feel when you’re there. The destination comes later, and with it begins a process of synthesis, not just of choices, but of choices that speak to each other. A hotel that matches the rhythm of the trip. A neighborhood that reveals the character of a city without needing to explain it. A table that becomes part of the trip’s story and not just another reservation.<\/p>\n

For me, this is what travel design means: creating an experience that feels natural, while in reality, it has been carefully designed. Removing what is superfluous, so that there is room for what cannot be planned; an unexpected conversation, a route that changes at the last minute, the feeling that you didn’t just visit a place, but connected with it. <\/p>\n

I don’t believe in ready-made packages<\/a>. Not because they are a bad choice, but because the best design is not one that fills every hour of the day. It’s one that leaves room for the traveler to make the trip their own.<\/p>\n

I don’t design itineraries.<\/p>\n

I design the conditions under which a memory can be born.<\/p>\n

Because, in the end, we never remember a perfectly organized schedule. We remember that moment when, unexpectedly, a place ceased to be a destination and became part of our personal story. <\/p>\n
